At Meira Dermatology, our mission is simple - to love people and help them realize their optimum health. We are a christian medical practice that loves the Lord and believes He has placed a calling on our lives to improve health, inspire hope and save lives. We know that it can be intimidating to have a skin exam or discuss sensitive health concerns, at Meira we strive to provide a warm environment in which you feel safe and confident that your personalized needs are being attended to and that any barriers to your care are eliminated. We are family owned and therefore have a joyful energetic culture that is not rushed and hurried by corporate standards.
Meet the Team
Holly Pohler APRN DCNP
Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner
Holly Pohler is a board certified dermatology nurse practitioner. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and Dermatology Nurses Association. Holly grew up in the country town of Okeana Ohio. She graduated with honors from the University of Cincinnati. Holly serves as a clinical dermatology preceptor for graduate students attending the University of South Florida, the University of Tampa and Simmons College. Since 2009, she has worked in private practice dermatology providing medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services. Holly holds past certifications in toxicology and substance abuse prevention and has worked in many emergency medicine, research, outreach and educational arenas. She combines these passions in her dermatology practice and offers a diversified approach to patient care.
Holly is married to her high school sweetheart and is just becoming an "empty nester". She is excited to see what the Lord has in store for her in this next season of life.
Desiree Smith
Medical Assistant
Desiree is a Certified Dermatology Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. She has 10 years of experience and is passionate about her work bringing joy and warmth to the practice.
On her time off she loves spending time in the word of God and in fellowship with others spreading the Good Word and ministry of Jesus Christ.
Dr. Thomas Taylor
Dermatologist
Dr. Taylor is board certified in dermatology by the American Academy of Dermatology.
He is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Bay Area Medical Association, and the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons. On staff in the Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery Department at the University of South Florida as a Volunteer Faculty Member, Dr. Taylor is also affiliated with St. Joseph's Baycare Hospital in Tampa.
From 1990-1999, Dr. Taylor served as the Chief of Dermatology at MacDill Air Force Base. He has successfully been in private practice since 1992.
Dr. Taylor is committed to his patients' health through specialized and individualized care for all patients.
